Meetings. A necessary evil in the business world. But every situation doesn’t demand a meeting. If you’re pulling your hair out because of meeting demands, try these tricks.
- Determine if a meeting is really necessary. Sometimes issues can be resolved via phone or email.
- Have an agenda and distribute it prior to the meeting.
- Invite the right people.
- Validate the agenda at the beginning of the meeting and stay on track. Capture issues that are “off-track” from the current meeting on a “parking lot” for assignment or action at the end of the meeting.
