It applies to your website too. I see a lot of small business owners make this fatal mistake on their website time and again in body copy that speaks to many people rather than just one person. It’s an easy mistake to make when you are writing copy for your website.
You’re thinking about all those people who are going to visit, so you write the copy to many people. Wrong. Most of the time there is only one person sitting on the other end of that keyboard. One person browsing your website to see if they want to buy what you have to sell. And if you don’t talk to them directly, they’ll go buy from someone else.
