Maybe it was all my years in the corporate world, but I live and breathe business in quarters still. Q1 = January through March, and now Q2 = April through June. In one more month, the business year will be half over.
How are your sales goals and business goals progressing? Are they on track?
If you manage a lot of projects, you might want to take a look at Basecamp. Let me know how you like it if you sign up. In terms of tracking projects, this might be the way to go.
Now is a good time, as June starts, to update your “first half of the year” business goals. If you got off-track, can you turn the wheel and steer yourself back? Do you need to make an adjustment in your plan? Whatever needs to be done, this is the time to do that. Don’t just watch the ship veer off…. never to get back on course.
Today and this week are good for making calls to set up meetings which can bring sales opportunities to closure. You can also take action with those prospective companies who are sending you mixed messages, or are not moving forward. Understand the value of your time and if you are all-consumed by an opportunity that may not happen, it is just not a good use of your energy, or time.
Time for month-end billing to go out, and begin a new month with the intention of achieving your goals. Be sure you have the metrics to compare what you actually do with what you had planned.
