Sending holiday cards is a great way to get back in front of your customer or prospective customer or client.
Send EARLY enough so that it is worth the effort. Some folks send cards at more unusual times of the year – for example on Halloween or on your customer’s birthday or anniversary – I suggest that you can’t send enough.
Depending on what research you look at, it takes about 5-7 impressions before someone buys from you. Most people give up too soon, or they are just lazy and don’t follow up as they should.
Be different! Be one of the small percentage who always follow through, and who think of clients and prospects at times other than when you want their dollars. It really makes a stong impression.
Within your holiday card, include a nicely printed certificate for something valuable – not just anything – but a true value. Or, include a coffee card, and suggest meeting after the first of the year. Even if you just write a sentence or two and include nothing, it will mean something to the receiver. They will remember.
If you haven’t purchased cards yet, you can find great ones for not too big of an investment. Even Hallmark has inexpensive boxed cards these days.
Send electronic greetings too – but a mailed, hand-written holiday card has no competition currently for a quick easy way to make an extra impression.
