Value your time and value others’ time when you are networking in person and through social media.
When you are at a networking event and someone approaches, wanting to pitch their product or who they are – with little regard for who you are and what you are about, you don’t need to waste your valuable time to be nice. Simply interrupt, and be blunt – ask this person what it is that they are wanting from you. You can let them know that you are here to meet a variety of folks, thank them for their time, and move on. Period.
A very nice business owner today was telling me how she feels ackward when this situation happens – and she ends up wasting even more time. Important: your time is an entrepreneur’s or a salesperson’s life blood – don’t waste it.
Honor your time – and this will cause you to always value others.
