PR TIP 101: Make it easy for them to cover your company! Go with the one click button to a dedicated online newsroom, and only put solid resources on the page.
The corporate communications and PR software provider Vocus just released results from its study which included surveying 1000 reporters from print publications.
The study “What Journalists want to See on Your Web Site” has as one of its main findings, according to Vocus, that the best way to get your message to journalists and the public overall is to create an online newsroom that can be accessed directly from the main page of the corporate site.
The study results underline the need to provide journalists a fast and accessible way to download your company information including press releases, corporate news, and other media resources. According to Vocus, several journalists commented on the need for easy navigation and wanting one-click access.
I cannot echo the study’s findings enough! As a journalist always under deadline, there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to get to the company media site. If we have to hunt down your information or your media page, then you’re costing us time!
To download the study in full you can visit the Vocus web site and register for the white paper, “What Journalists Want to See on Your Web Site.”
