Keeping up with loved ones who are far away can be difficult. Whether your lover is long-distance or your child is away at camp this summer, there are only so many ways to keep in touch, and most of them are pretty sterile.
That’s where the Interactive Pillows from Design Goteborg are wired with EL wire that allows the pillows to connect to a wireless communication service and interact with other wired pillows. As their website says, “the need for more subtle forms of communication to complement existing IT devices, this project explores interactive pillows as a means of enhancing long-distance communications.”
When a pillow is touched, embraced, or lain on, it will activate an equivalent and glowing pattern on the other, corresponding pillow, and this patter/form will change with the movements and touch of the party.
While it does not seem that these pillows are yet available, they are, to be sure, an innovative way to keep “in touch” with loved ones.
