The “word” seems to be that the new Congress will not be enacting any significant health care reform. There are some who are suggesting that the best thing Congress can do is to let the states experiment and see how this all sorts out.
Massachusetts was the big news, and other states, including Maryland and California, are poking at their own plans. Republican or Democrat, something has to happen.
Meanwhile, the lame duck Republican Congress has about a month to at least reverse the pending cut in Medicare fees to the 2006 rates – which were unchanged from the year prior. Friends like this we don’t need.
