I remember a few years ago when everyone was crying about all the good domain names being gone. Well that wasn’t the truth then and it’s not the truth now. It has gotten a bit tougher to find a domain name, but there are still plenty left. You just have to be willing to be a bit creative and invest some time and energy in brainstorming.
Remember that you want a domain name that reflects what your business is about and what your customers will be looking for. That’s one of the keys to getting found once you get your domain up and running. To help you in your search, here are a few domain name search tools that may help shorten the time you spend to find just the right name.

You may also want to take a peek at some expired domains. You can do a free search for expired domains here. Be careful though. Registering an expired domain can trigger some of the sandbox rules of the search engines and may cause your site to be non-existent to the world of customers for a while. You can read a discussion on that topic and how to get an expired domain relisted in the search engines here.
One other tool you may want to take a look at is the Domain Suggestion Tool. This software will run you about $77, but will save you countless hours. It’s what I use to ferret out new domain names. It provides a wealth of information — domain name combinations, number of searches per month, whether the domain is available or not and much more. Well worth it for the time it saves. It may work as well for you as it has for me.
