From the news: This Florida woman was running a physical therapy business from her home which is located near a place called ‘Warm Mineral Springs’. Now that sounds very nice, but the county certainly did not like it. They ordered her to stop back in February, but she reopened it and proceeded with her business against the county’s orders. Now she’s in real ‘hot mineral water’.
Perhaps she should have registered her business as a ‘Bed & Breakfast’ instead? I can’t say this enough — make sure your business complies with any city or county zoning restrictions. In a home business such as mine, where we use a drop ship business model, there is no inventory or customers on the premises. Our municipality gives us a thumbs up for our business. If you’re not sure about your business, call your municipality. You will usually find a number in your local phone directory for your city or county business licensing division. It’s better to tell them up front what you plan to do than to be shut down later.
