Do you have a home based business that involves making and/or taking phone calls? Have you ever noticed that sometimes that phone is heavy and you just don’t want to pick it up? Here is a real world story – a little inspiration for when you feel like avoiding that phone:
I contacted a major Midwest foodservice vendor, asked, “Do you have anyone designing menus for your restaurants?”, and she said “yes, but we aren’t happy with them. Tell me what you’ve got.” So last Friday I was formally introduced to their sales force of 70+ sales reps as their new menu designer, and did a brief, half-hour presentation, which went pretty well. I scored 3500 new accounts with one phone call.She writes a challenge at the end: Who are you going to call today? I like this story because it shows what can happen from just one phone call. Of course, you will likely have to make a lot of phone calls to get a 3500 account phone call like that, but consider that you won’t be able to score that high if you don’t pick up the phone. Action will get you closer to that than no action!
