This is another one of those simple ideas that you hope will catch on. Uncommon Ground is a neighborhood caf? in Chicago, the kind of place you take your friends to, so you can show off how much cooler your neighborhood is compared to theirs. The caf? is part of the “slow food” movement; they buy local, organic products and make their own natural liqueurs. To complement their daily green atmosphere, they host a monthly green night. There’s a band, there’s great food, and of course, there’s Treetinis. For every $5 Treetini that they sell, they plant a tree in India. This little coffee shop turned caf?, across the street from Wrigley field, has already donated 3000 trees through Live It Green LLC.
Bravo to them.
