I got an email from a blog reader today telling me that Focus Like a Laser Beam was reviewed in the September Issue of Entrepreneur Magazine (the new issue is not up on the website yet, sorry) and that my book cover was paired right next to Seth Godin‘s new book, Small is the New Big.
That, my friends, feels like good marketing karma! I went to my local Barnes & Noble to see for myself and sure nuf, there we are together. Seth and I, we go way back. Kidding – we have never met in person.
I’m honored to be in the same company as Small is the New Big because I have heard nothing but raving praise for the book – it’s on the top of must read list.
Thanks goes out to writer Mark Henricks for the favorable review and a nice draw! I only wonder what Seth thinks of his draw? Seth probably does not need to think about draw.
Here’s a pic. Cool, huh? I’m doing the happy dance.
By the way, in the same issue of Entrepreneur, they offered this list of the top 10 time wasters in a side bar called, Focus, People! Based on a poll.
1. Shifting priorities
2. Telephone interruptions (heard that one before?)
3. Lack of direction/objectives
4. Attempting too much
5. Drop-in visitors
6. Ineffective delegation (I wonder if this is from the perspective of the dumper or dumpee?)
7. Cluttered desk/losing things
8. Procrastination/lack of self-discipline
9. Inability to say no
No surprise there, but too bad we aren’t heeding our instincts on solving these chronic issues.
