[From the Medical Practice Blog Editor, Susan Davis]
While surfing the Web in search of news about physician incomes (always a topic of interest, we’ve found), I ran across this article from Physician Practice, detailing the ways that some physicians make extra money. Rather than hoping that office visit charges will cover the “off-the-books” time spent filling out paperwork and returning patient calls, these docs are starting to charge for everything from providing kindergarten health forms to re-filling prescriptions outside of scheduled appointments. Is this good business practice? Or does it run the risk of alienating patients? Tell us what you think!
