Product overview is among the most important features of the product page of your Web site, according to an e-commerce report.
The report, “The Content Dilemma — Consumer Insights and Merchant Execution,” was written by Lauren Freedman, president of the e-tailing group and extracted from findings from the research, “The e-tailing group/ARS eCommerce Online Content Impact Survey.”
Freedman asked the shoppers surveyed to rank, on a five-point scale, the importance of 26 features and functions shoppers use when selecting and purchasing a product. The top 10 — those ranked No. 1 or “very important” — follow:
Product overview received a top ranking from 76 percent of respondents
Merchant’s guarantee, 73 percent
Stock status/availability, 69 percent
Quality of the image, 67 percent
Customer services links, 65 percent

And, now it’s time to talk, er, eat turkey. Happy Thanksgiving.
