I am a goal-oriented person and always have been. I like to think about things that I want to accomplish, how to accomplish them, and then set about doing so. This month my website is featuring information and chats and articles about setting business goals, as it is so important to do this, whether you are just starting a business or you have been running one for years. You’ll never know if you are succeeding if you do not know what success is for you, whether that is bringing in $1200 per month while working from home or adding several new clients each month.
While it is important to set goals in your business, it is equally important to set family goals as well. What is it that you feel you have been spending too little time on in your home? Perhaps you’ve skipped out on cooking much because time has gotten the best of you, or you are not spending as much time as you would like to as an entire family. My husband and I were talking last night about how much our children look up to us. They eat what we eat. We can tell them that they need to eat fruit, but if we don’t eat fruit, they won’t either. We can tell them not to curse or to say only nice things to others, but if we mumble under our breath when someone pulls in front of us, this is what they hear and will follow.
So this month I am setting two goals: A professional goal and a personal family goal. My challenge to you is to do the same. Set two goals for yourself, ending in December just before the New Year begins. Set up things that you can do to ensure you are meeting these goals and then evaluate this right before 2008 rings in.
Still with me? Good. If you want some help with the professional goal, visit the site. We will be featuring a chat on July 17 that focuses on setting long-term goals. Everyone involved will share their goal ideas and get help with determining what might need to be done to meet that goal.
Hope you had a wonderful fourth of July, mommies!
