You’ve probably heard those home based business success claims? Like “Make Money Fast”, “Fire your Boss in 30 days”, or “Retire in 12 months”, etc. Business success usually doesn’t come fast and a great of home based business ads lead you to believe that you can just join the business opportunity and fly.
You’ve probably also heard of failure rates. Like the one that says most businesses fail within 5 years. Why do you suppose that is? Some people are fortunate enough to have a sustainable home-based business in a year or less. But for most people, it takes much longer. Most people need about 5 years to achieve a profitable sustainable business (some even longer). This is especially true for people who have never been involved in a home business before. Perhaps many businesses ‘fail’ because the business owner gives up too soon.
I don’t mean to burst bubbles, but the fact of the matter is that you must be prepared for the long haul in a home business. Set your goals beyond just next month or even next year and plan to build your business over time. Success in business usually involves time and consistency. So don’t believe the “Get Rich Quick” hype, but at the same time, don’t get discouraged because you aren’t as far along as you would like. Keep reaching!
