One thing it talks about is checking out the competition. To expand on that bit, you should also try to judge the level of competition for whatever you plan to sell on eBay. You’ll have trouble with something that’s completely overloaded with competition. What you’re looking for are products that have some competition, but don’t have a flood of the product available at any one time.
A lot of people hope for something that has no competition at all. Don’t worry about trying to find that. I’m not sure any such product exists on eBay and if it did, you would need to wonder why there was no competition for it.
So a little competition on eBay is a good thing and you can always learn things from your competitors. You can see what they’re doing wrong and things they could do better. Then take that information and build a better auction or eBay store! A lot of people build home-based businesses on eBay just by doing a better job of selling than their competition.
