It is the beginning of Q2 – one of my favorite quarters in selling. If you divide the year up into quarters (how public companies figure their sales, as do many private companies) – after Q1, I like Q2 best.
Q1 is the fresh start. At the beginning of the year, we are refreshed, renewed – committed more than ever to get going with sales or ramp up like we never have before.
Sometimes we get sidetracked. I know for me, there were family issues with a sick family member and lifestyle adjustments to be made toward the end of last year, which spilled into the beginning of the year. Each month we can regroup and get re-grounded. But for me, perhaps working for the very driven companies that I have worked for – the beginning of each quarter is like a pistol shot into the air to get the race going.
With Q2 in progress now – it is time to re-focus. Take a look at either of Lisa Haneberg’s books: Two Weeks to a Breakthrough (her latest) or the very helpful Focus Like A Laser Beam – either could be the foundation for getting out of how you are thinking and into a new frame of mind. Whether you are in a slump or just not hitting that goal – it is time to take a look at that.
