If you’re running a home-based business, perhaps one of your major challenges is focusing on your business. With so many distractions around the home – children playing close by, laundry spinning in the dryer, pets craving attention, etc. – it’s easy to put aside your business work to attend to these attractive diversions. In addition, this is the time of year when the weather is starting to turn beautiful (at least here in North America) and if your home office has a window, you may find yourself yearning to be outdoors.
If you keep a schedule to manage your business activities and appointments, how about scheduling some time for yourself? If you want to go outside to ‘play’, then schedule time to fulfill that need. Otherwise, you may feel deprived. There’s nothing wrong with taking a break from your work and if you consider that part of your scheduled activities, then you will be more likely to feel entitled to it and not feel guilty about it.
What about you? How do you balance your needs with the needs of your home-based business?
