If you ship items out to customers as your home-based business, do you use USPS Priority Mail? In this blog post, I alluded to the fact that sometimes Priority Mail can be somewhat sporadic, but we’ve found that it generally works very well. It works the best for items that are somewhat lightweight and aren’t terribly large.
One huge advantage to Priority Mail is free boxes! You can order from a variety of sizes of Priority Mail boxes at the USPS Web Shop and pay nothing – not even for shipping. There are some upper limits on single orders, but you can order as often as you want.
When you begin to do a lot of shipping, costs can add up and take away from your profits. One of these costs is the cost of shipping boxes. With Priority Mail boxes, you can cut that cost right out and put it back into your bottom line.
One caveat: These boxes can only be used for Priority Mail. But if Priority Mail works for your products, why pay for boxes if you don’t have to?
