You recall the third film of the Terminator series, Rise of the Machines, where the character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger says, “I’m back.”
Well, I’m back blogging here at Allbusiness after an extended hiatus. In the months since I was actively blogging I’ve remarried, moved to another state, started a new job, and written a book! Things have settled down somewhat and it’s time to start blogging again.
One thing that has changed about this blog is the name. Since we, long ago, answered the question of why businesses should blog, and since there has really been a paradigm shift in the acceptance of blogs as a marketing communications tool, the name “Why Blog?” doesn’t really fit the bill any longer. As such, the blog is now called “Strategic Business Blogging.”
My plan is to continue doing what I started over a year ago, to write some posts that are instructional — “how-to” posts — as well as posts that are more strategic in nature, built on what I’ve termed the ten strategic benefits of business blogging. I plan also to try and keep up with the latest buzz in the business end of the blogosphere and report it.
Unlike before, my focus is not strictly on SMBs, but business blogging across the board. I plan to do some interviews with business bloggers representing both small biz and corporate alike.
There is one thing I hope to revive though that fell by the wayside, the 52 Small Business Blogs in 52 Weeks project. That certainly deserves to be done, though in order to fit the timetable, it will need to be delayed until the first of the year.
So, it’s back to the business of blogging about business blogging. I appreciate your feedback, so as always, feel free to leave comments.
