If you have an affiliate site or a site that sells information products as your home based business, do you give away bonuses with your product(s)? It’s become quite common to pile on the bonus material, but what about the quality of that bonus material?
Too often, the bonus material is nothing short of junk. To give you an example, I recently bought something from NW (Name Withheld). There were a lot of bonuses and I downloaded them all. Unfortunately, all of the bonuses were quite old and outdated. One of them was even talking about how to make money using a “new PPC service” Overture.com! (Overture was purchased by Yahoo way back in 2003).
There is nothing wrong with giving out bonuses with your information product; in fact, it’s a great tactic. But make sure the bonus products provide some value. And they may be older, but can still be somewhat useful – it’s more or less a matter of judgment. In any case you should be familiar with all your bonus material. Thoroughly review them and cycle out any bonus material that is no longer relevant or not longer provides value to your buyers. Otherwise you run the risk of tarnishing your name with crummy bonus material.
As for me, I probably won’t buy anything from “NW” again due to my experience with his bonus material.
