One assumption that a lot of people have is that to order products from a wholesale supplier, you must meet a large minimum order. While this might be true for Tier 1 suppliers such as Apple or Microsoft, the vast majority of wholesale suppliers are actually likely to have quite approachable minimum order standards. Often these can be as low as $100.
Other times, suppliers will have a one time minimum order. For example, we recently started doing business with a supplier who had a minimum order of $150 for just the first order and no minimum order after that point. We simply purchased $150 worth of their best stuff and turned it around on eBay. After that point, we started using the supplier as a drop shipper.
Of course drop ship suppliers generally have no minimum orders. You can read more about how drop shipping is used in a home-based business in Jump Start your Home Business with Real Drop Shipping, Drop Ship Scams, and Leveraging Multiple Drop Ship Suppliers.
Sometimes, minimum order levels are even negotiable. Bottom line is: don’t assume that a wholesale supplier will have a prohibitive minimum order. Most of the time, it will surprise you how low their minimum orders are. Much of the time, the minimum order will fit comfortably into your home-based business budget for product acquisition.
