“Getting business information from competitors.
Q: I’m interested in starting a homebased telephone-answering service. I want to research my competitors’ prices and services, but I don’t want to call them. What’s the best way to do this research without letting them know that I’m a competitor?”
– There is some interesting advice here. Calling a potential competitor before you start a business to see if they are willing to give you advice will give you an insight into how the market you plan to operate in is doing. While it shouldn’t be the only thing that you look at it could potentially give you a very interesting view into what’s really going on in your chosen business. -ed.
