Planning is so critical and often lacking. I think many managers would be more focused and successful if they spent a few more hours planning instead of putting out the daily fires.
But planning is not sexy. Not glitzy. Not fun. Not what we WANT to do, right?
Well, snap out of it! Planning is critical and it can be fun and maybe even a little sexy. For those of you who plan well, you know what I mean. There is a satisfying rush when a great plan comes together.
I once wrote a little booklet on planning. Boy was it DULL. That was over ten years ago. I would do it much differently now that I have a bit more experience under my belt.
