A couple months ago I wrote about a new restaurant in town that was a great example of local marketing. They did everything right. They attracted a lot of new customers and they did so with no advertising.
You can read the article here.
When I wrote the article they had been open about two months. So, it would have been easy to conclude they were simply enjoying a good honeymoon period and not give it anymore thought.
Now they’ve been open about four months and they’re still going strong. I eat there often and I rarely see a slow time.
This is especially impressive since this time of year a lot of our restaurants slow down. It’s natural because so many regular customers are gone on vacation or “up at the lake” as we say in Minnesota.
And they’ve done it with no advertising.
I mention this restaurant again because it’s nice to see them continue to succeed. I believe they are well past any honeymoon period so their success seems to be sustainable. And I think it’s based on sound business principles like a steady demand for their product, a good quality product, great customer service and a healthy dose of local word of mouth marketing.
Do you have a business like this in your town? One that just does everything right? If so, please tell us about it.
