These words go right to the heart of running a small business. Too many people start or buy a small business without considering these two important concepts.
First, be passionate about what you do. If you truly enjoy your business, if it leaves you feeling fulfilled at the end of the workday, then you have found the right business for you.
Second, without customers, you have no business. And, marketing is how you get customers. I have seen many small businesses come and go because they lacked customers. They lacked customers becaue they neglected to promote themselves. They left marketing to chance. They did not make it a top priority.
If you love what you do, if you believe it makes a difference and it contributes to a better world, then it is easy to promote it. In fact,promoting such a business is not only easy but natural. It would be hard NOT to promote a business you’re passionate about.
So, be passionate about your business and you’ll find your marketing gets a lot easier and a lot more effective.
