England is full of bad ideas. Like bangers and beans. And driving on the wrong side of the road.
Well, once we did give that a whirl–and it seemed like a good idea at the time–but in the long run you’re better off not trying it.
But here’s one good idea English people came up with for their cars: Peasy Parking Ltd.
Peasy Parking offers parking spaces for daily, weekly or long-term rent anywhere in the UK. All you have to do is register for free at Peasy.com and you can search parking spaces, reserve online and park where you want–near your job, the airport, train station, whatever.
Most spots are in driveways, garages and parking lots. They’re put up for rent by homeowners or people in the car-park business.
If you want to rent a space you can make 10 to 30 pounds a week. (Which is about enough to buy a bag of crisps at London prices.
Payments are accepted online via Paypal, Mastercard, Visa or AmEx. Refunds and cancellations are possible. Just give 24 hours notice for daily bookings or at least a week for long-term parking-space rentals.
Peasy.com collects the fee from the parker and pays the renter. And if there are any problems, Peasy steps in with a solution.
For instance, in the event that someone stops paying you but keeps on parking in your spot, Peasy will contact “a local wheel-clamping firm.”
Now there’s another bad idea from England. If you want someone to move out of your space, how does clamping his wheel help?
Back to the drawing board, mate.
