A Bloomburg News photo in this morning’s Atlanta paper shows a tired-looking man clad in shorts and a t-shirt, slouched outside Apple’s New York City store waiting for the iPhone to go on sale — at 6 p.m. this Friday.
The man, Greg Packer, has been there since Tuesday.
iPhone domain names and accessories are hot items on eBay, along with a “rare, complete lot of 10 units and accessories” billed on the auction site as “The Original iPhone Collection.” Listed on eBay at $125,500, these 10 units are said to represent “the evolution of the iPhone from concept to telephone wireless web pad.” The item comes with notarized certificates of authenticity.

The Web is, naturally, full of news stories about the new phone, and the Apple Web site provides photos, a guided tour of the iPhone and rate plans, but the phone is for sale nowhere as of now.
