Before you travel somewhere to ‘get the sale’ make sure you understand the traditions, customs and business practices of the area you are traveling to. When I was in the navy, before we were allowed ashore at a new port of call, we were given training on local customs and traditions so that we would not cause an embarrassing situation for our country. If this idea is good for our military and country it is also good for you and your business. A little preparation can go a long way. -ed.
