I am aware that on February 18 I will be in China when the Chinese New Year will be in full swing. Yikes! No business will be done on that day.
Ever arrived in a country and you can´t do business or find an open shop? It may mean that it´s a holiday of some sort so the banks, post-offices and all the shops and businesses you wanted to visit are closed. This can cause some pretty major problems.
Next time you are planning to go to a country on business check the holidays and weekends. A weekend may not be Saturday and Sunday. A good website is www.bank-holidays.com
Here I found out that on January 6th in Bhutan, its is the Meeting of the Evils. Not a very auspicious time to be trying to extol the virtues of your organisation. Or Carnival Day in Germany, usually sometime in February, is not the time to be getting serious with people.
Oh well, it may just mean you have to join in the festivities.
