According to a recently released Pew Research Center survey, most people see the last decade as a pretty dismal one. In the study, nearly two-to-one have a negative (50 percent) versus positive (27 percent) impression of the 2000s — and some of the most cited adjectives used to describe the decade include “downhill,” “decline,” and “disastrous.”
No doubt a lot of you feel the same way — whether it’s because of 9/11, the recession, the mortgage meltdown, the Iraq war, or not-so-great events in your regional, local, or personal life. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take an honest look at your life and figure out what you actually can improve, however. I’m a big fan of accepting things we cannot change, but having the courage to change what we can.
So starting tomorrow, I’ll be posting ten (maybe 12!) potential resolutions that small business owners might adopt. If you have some that you think might be helpful, please send them in!
