We have all heard that term – some businesses have that one “client” that is 80% of their business – some others have that one “supplier” that is 80% of their business – and the fear is ever present that – “what IF that went away”. We have been dealing with the issue for some time; our industry is one that you choose a carrier and offer those products and services – much like an insurance agency would. Something we decided a few years ago was to diversify as much as possible as quickly as possible just to be sure we didn’t die should something happen; and that philosophy is paying off. We do have multiple revenue streams now – and as a result we aren’t living under that fear of death should something happen. We are open to change; we don’t want anything to change form our current partnership – but if it did we wouldn’t go away like we would have a few short years ago. If you have that 800LB Gorilla living with you make some changes now – before it is too late. I have seen it happen to friends of mine and it isn’t pretty. Even small changes in different services can make you feel a lot more secure. It would still hurt if we had to make a change; don’t get me wrong; but we would survive and so can you.
Areas of Expertise: Business Coaching
As the founder of Petra Coach, Andy Bailey can cut through organizational BS faster than a hot knife through butter, showing organizations the logjams thwarting their success and coaching them past the excuses we all use to avoid doing what needs to be done. He founded Petra to pass on to other entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders the principles and practices he used to build his successful enterprise, which are rooted in the Rockefeller Habits methodology. Andy serves in an advisory role on the Gazelles Council, The Leaders of the ScaleUp Movement.
