If you want to find out just how important the blogging phenomena really is, pick up a copy of a new book by Dan Burstein and David Kline, Blog!
As much as I know about blogging, particularly from a business perspective, there was much this book has taught me. The introduction is worth the price, as it puts blogging into historical perspective and talks about man’s need to share his ideas from the days of cave painting on.
The book goes into great detail about just how blogging is transforming the social, political, business, and media communications landscape. Each major section begins with an insightful essay by David Kline. Following that is a series of in-depth interviews with significant blogging notables such as Joe Trippi, Robert Scoble, and Wil Wheaton. The sections conclude with commentary by other authors.
Of course, after reading the introduction (masterfully written by Dan Burstein) I went straight to the business section. It reinforced my own view of how dynamic and powerful blogging for business can become and the manifold ways blogs can be used to improve communications, both within the company as well as with consumers.
If you read only one blogging book this year (assuming that you’ve already read Buzz Marketing with Blogs For Dummies of course), let it be Blog!
