On my post about using LinkedIn constructively, Kim Shuford asked me to write about how LinkedIn has helped me.
Funny thing is, I’ve only been on LinkedIn for a week, but I’m finding the experiment to have good results.
First, I hooked up with an old friend whom I truly adore, but with whom I’d fallen out of touch.
Second, I hooked up with another old friend who is now working for an outfit that helps non-profit organizations polish their electronic communications (i.e., website and enewsletters). That company, I’m quite sure, would be a big help to one of my non-profit clients and I’m planning on getting the two together.
Third, after asking a previous colleague if he’d like to be one of my LinkedIn contacts, he suggested we have lunch to talk about project ideas.
And fourth, I discovered that one of my contacts’ contacts is a publisher to whom I’d like to be introduced.
Not bad…for one week of social networking.
Would still love to hear about your ideas and experiences on the almighty LinkedIn!
Next up: I face up to Facebook.
