If you are in the Boston / Cambridge MA area or can drive there, I highly recommend this event tomorrow (5/4): The MIT Sloan Sales Conference, put on by MIT’s Sloan School of Management as a first-ever event.
I’m pleased to see this, since so few universities around North America do address the world of selling and sales skills. I was contacted by student Trond Wuellner, who calls this event ,”a set of programs designed to bridge the gap between theoretical MBA mumbo-jumbo and real-world results.”
Wow – MIT (and other universities) have come a long way over the years. The line up is a “who’s who” in business – with the wealth of business minds in New England, coupled with MIT alums and other interested parties, this is sure to be a fantastic annual event.
If you are not nearby, at least take a look at their concept – a great website, fantastic speakers, wonderful venue – lots of compelling reasons to attend. How can you do something innovative like this with your company? I challenge any readers to find a way to create your own event – a conference, open house, educational series — for prospective and existing clients. Please post comments or email me your ideas and results.
