I am on vacation – yippee – in
New Mexico. I am pleased to be presenting posts while I am gone from
several blogging buddies. I know you will find what they have to write
interesting. There are two kinds of posts:
- Some folks are providing a post about whatever interests them.
- Some folks have graciously agreed to answer a set of questions I offered a couple weeks back.
I thank all my contributors!
Here is a post by Brian whose whose webiste is called, File-Reg International
What do you do?
Founder and CEO of File-Reg International.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the fact that I get emails from all over the world from people, mostly managers or directors, who have all types of problems and questions regarding Intellectual Property. We deal in a particular part of Intellectual Property not covered by patents and trademarks – namely the registration of general IP such as business plans, R&D, concepts, sensitive information etc. Because I like to have contact with my customers I try to answer most of the emails personally, however I do not mention I am the CEO.
What drives you insane?
How many blogs do you read?
I follow about 10 to 15 blogs regularly, and check out at least another 10 (more of less) new blogs per month.
What do you look for in a blog?
I am always looking for new minds to inspire me, make me rethink
about how I think and make me laugh. Humor in blogs is important.
How do you think your work world will change in the next 5 years?
I think I will focus on politics trying to fight for better legislation in regard to intellectual property protection for areas other the patent and trademark. Copyright protection for writers and artists is great, but copyright protection in the business world is very weak, worldwide.
What’s one thing you would like to learn about in the next year?
I just started doing research into IP protection in areas where it is very transparent when ideas, concepts and plans are stolen. We have just started with the advertising world – and how many of these have had their work stolen by other agencies or customers. I want to try and find out which area of business encounters the greatest problems in IP protection and how best they can prevent these problems.
What’s your favorite book?
At the moment… Good Grief by Lolly Winston
What’s your daily mantra (the message you tell yourself over and over in your head)?
Be honest, be nice and be happy.
