Business books you should read come today from Fast Company, Church of the Customer, DuctTape Marketing, Nick Usborne and others! Here’s a roundup of books on my shelf! Get to reading!
“net words: Creating High-Impact Copy” by Nick Usborne – this book is one of the top as far as tackling how anyone can write compelling online copy. As Nick says, “Bells and whistles may grab a customer’s attention, but words make the sale.” Nick’s newsletter is great too.
“Duct Tape Marketing” by John Jantsch – Ok, it’s been said a million times to read this book and now I’ll say it, “READ THIS BOOK!”. John’s post today on his blog about direct marketing is very insightful and actionable by the way.
“Creating Customer Evangelists:” by Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba – is another must read. They’re blog is full of great insight too, and hit here to read the one by Jackie about J. Crew doing it right!
And the final one in our roundup today is!!!
“Fast Company’s Greatest Hits: Ten Years of the Most Innovative Ideas in Business” edited by Mark N. Vamos and David Lidsky. Tomorrow I will post an interview with David Lidsky on this blog, but meanwhile you should go out and buy this book because it truly is inspiring and has some wonderful tales of early beginnings like Craig Newmark’s of Craigslist and others. My favorite in the book is “Genius at Work” by Sara Terry about Bill Strickland. Another great read is “In Search of Courage” by John McCain. (GO MCCAIN 2008!)
Once in awhile you should hit Fast Company’s blog too. Interesting post today – on online popularity and whether it translates into sales.
NOW GO AND READ!
