Manufacturers certainly haven’t overlooked the green movement. According to Mintel’s Global New Products Database, 328 new products, claiming to be environmentally friendly, were released in 2007. That number represented a 200% increase from 2006. Compare that to 2002, when only 5 such products were released, we have an astonishing 6500% increase in five years. Not all products were green in themselves however; some were using their Green Energy Credits and charitable practices to promote their eco-friendliness.
Mintel’s findings show that people are searching for green in their household paper products (66%), food (57%) and energy efficient appliances (48%).
