I was struck by a post by Glenn Ross (fellow AllBusiness.com blogger) the other day about the importance of networking. He tells a story about when he was in retail and told himself he didn’t have time to go out to events and network. He discovered inadvertently how valuable it was to have business cards handy when he met people, and eventually he equated that value with time for networking.
He points out that now, when business is slowing down for most of us, is a good time to reconsider the way you prioritize your time. Taking a little time to develop your business may be the very best use of your time right now.
