Question: Can a free prize actually take over your business and become it? If it does do you readjust and create a new free prize or have you actually accomplished what you really want to? Should the free prize idea be an ongoing endeavor or should you use it sparingly?
Answer: Actually, there are countless “real” businesses where the free prize is all there is. Think of the town attraction–that roadside restaurant or bar or custard stand that “everyone” goes to. Think of frequent flyer miles and American Airlines (they’d be dead without them… gone). What about ski areas (snowboarding)…
Once you’re on the fashion train, you need to stay there. You need to keep reinventing to find the next fashion trend.
