Here’s an idea for retailers wanting to start the new year off on green footing: Check out, then participate in the Recycle Bank. It’s a high-tech way to reward your customers for recycling.
In participating cities, which you can find on the Web site, recycling bins are fitted with a computer chip so that consumers get credit for recycling. They earn 2.5 Recycle Bank points for every pound they recycle, then when they build up enough points, they get, for example, $2 off $5 or more from Kiss My Face, the cosmetics company.
Participating retailers are: Bed, Bath & Beyond, CVS, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Foot Locker, Rite Aid, Sears and Target.
Among non-retailers participating are Kraft, Stonyfield Farms and Evian.
Why not add your store or company to the list and make your customers appreciate you? Make this your first New Year’s Resolution. Go on.
