Here are some top picks and we’ll feature more in-depth interviews and coverage on them later in the blog as well.
I’m anxiously awaiting the release of Geoff Livingston’s book on new media titled, “Now Is Gone” that will be released by Bartleby Press in October. For now check out Geoff’s post announcing the blog associated with the new book. I can tell you that the book is going to be a stunner as Geoff’s experience in all that is new media is extensive and he’s a great guy to boot.
Another book I’m re-reading is by a client of mine Erika Andersen and is titled, Growing Great Employees. This book has been heralded by Forbes, the NYTimes and Entrepreneur and Erika’s Changethis.com Manifesto is still one of the most popular on the site. Here’s a link to the manifesto.
I also just finished“Setting the Table” by Danny Meyer. I loved this book. It’s particularly good to read in terms of customer service and what makes great service and hospitality. Danny is the CEO and founder of Union Square Cafe in New York and was named by New York Magazine as one of the most influential New Yorkers of 2006.
I think Meyer’s take on investing in community is spot on. “Invest in your community. A business understands how powerful it is to create wealth for the community stands a much higher chance of creating wealth for its own investors.”
There are other great tidbits in the book and I truly recommend it as an excellent business book read.
