Bush: Proposes budget cuts for the SBA and the MEP; believes lower taxes and less-burdensome regulations are more important to most small businesses than the SBA.
Since President Bush took office, he’s slashed the Small Business Administration budget by 25%. Another cut is planned for next year, according to early White House budget documents.
A record number of small businesses, however, got SBA loans last year, thanks to the agency’s emphasis on making smaller loans. It beat the record this year with two months to spare. ”
