Well, here is yet another case where a home-based business has run into trouble with the neighbors. A carpet/upholstery cleaning business in Onalaska (that’s in Wisconsin by the way), is being forced to cease their home business operation. In addition to complaints about multiple service vehicles parked at the residence, there was concern raised about commercial chemical storage at the home based business. Here is the full story.
Aside from illustrating the limits of what can be run as a home-based business, I think this shows that home-based businesses are best run when they can be operated under a low profile. This is one of the reasons we chose to use a drop shipping business model for our home-based business. No delivery trucks, no onsite customers, and no inventory to stock. No neighborhood impact.
