I heard this joke/story in one of the seminars I attended this morning. I kinda liked it so here goes…I’ll try not to mangle it too much:
This minister died and went to heaven. Upon arrival, he met with St. Peter and got all set up with a well appointed little cottage all his own.
Next day, he wakes up and looks out the window to see an enormous mansion on a hill, just a short distance from his cottage. He wonders about it and asks St. Peter about whose mansion it was. St. Peter replied that the mansion belonged to Joe the cab driver.
The minister was taken aback. "Joe the cab driver? How can that be? I’ve dedicated my entire life to doing the Lord’s work. Don’t misunderstand me–I greatly appreciate my little cottage, but how is it that Joe has a house so much larger than my cottage?"
St. Peter replied, "It’s all about results. When you preached, people fell asleep. When Joe drove, people prayed."
