One recurring theme you may have noted in this blog is that a home-based business does best when it is not noticed. Once you begin inviting customers/clients to your home or begin having delivery trucks or service vehicles lining your street, you’re likely to run into trouble.
This Minnesota town has made it illegal to conduct home business-related activities out of doors. This includes things like talking to clients, outside storage, or working on a business project outside. This town wants to keep those home businesses under the radar.
Just what kinds of restrictions can be reasonably placed in ordinances remains to be seen. But this demonstrates that home-based businesses have a big enough presence, that local bureaucrats are beginning to take notice of the ones that ‘stand out’.
