In this blog post, I talked about using Elance Escrow to secure your money against fraudulent service providers on Elance. Another way to make sure you get the best service possible is to use the ‘Invite to Bid’ feature of Elance.
You can browse providers and click on favorite ones. You can use the Search feature to locate providers (link here). Then you can choose the “Invite to Bid” button to ask them to bid on one or more of your current projects. This is great when you have used someone in past, liked what they did, and may want to use their services again.
For example, I recently had a provider in Pakistan design an eBook cover for me. They did a great job and I took a look at their portfolio to see what else they do. It turns out they also do web design and I just happen to have a light web design project coming up. So I used the ‘Invite to Bid’ process to ask them to participate in the bidding.
You can also get recommendations from friends and colleagues to find out who they used and liked on Elance. Then use ‘Invite to Bid’ to ask those providers to bid on your project.
Using ‘Invite to Bid’ can help pre-qualify your service providers on Elance and streamline the outsourcing process for you.
