I received a good shipping tip from TekGems (eBay seller ID) that´s useful to sellers that do a lot of international shipping volume.
I´ll paraphrase: Shipping costs vary from country to country, but you can nail down costs for specific items based on shipping inquiries from your most frequent buyers. You can then build a list of shipping prices for 90% of countries you ship to. For example, customers from Canada, UK, Australia, Italy, and Brazil are frequent customers for TekGems. For each of these countries, he has pre-written shipping HTML for packages that weigh 1 pound, 2 pounds, 3 pounds, etc.
TekGems doesn´t want to spend unnecessary time answering e-mails from customers about shipping rates when he can include it in the description and forget about it. Customers are still welcome to ask about specific shipping amounts and he´ll reply with the correct info, but if the customer has all the pertinent info up front, it helps.
Good stuff. Thanks for the input TekGems.
